Spring is in the air.

Calving season is always exciting.  Our ranch manager, a dedicated and loyal herdsman, takes care that each new calf is born sheltered in the barn, and fully dry before being sent out to play.  He is in attendance for every birth in case of unexpected  problems.  This is not a normal practice at many ranches and the calves do fine.  However, as a result of this extra effort, new calves are immediately introduced to humans, creating an exceptionally gentle herd.  As witnessed by the ranch manager's daughter in the above picture.

Wildlife were in abundance while four-wheeling back to the house.  I had to grab a couple photos.
